5 Foods That Heartburn Sufferers Should Avoid

I always believe that, “prevention is better than cure”.

I am not saying it’s easy to do but anything is possible if you're willing to put some effort. Today, I’m going to reveal some of the foods that you should consider avoiding from now on to help reduce the incidences of acid reflux. You may not notice this before but these foods are the trigger to your heartburn problem.

1. Alcohol: If you’re a drinker, you should probably consider quitting because Alcohol can irritate your stomach and relax the LES muscle increases acidity and contributes to acid reflux.
2. Foods with high Cholesterol (Fatty Foods): Fat foods take longer time to digest. Because of that, it can increase the changes of GERD symptoms.
3. Caffeine & Coffee: I am sure most of you have heard about it before. Caffeine increase the acidity level but you can still having your morning beverage by limiting the taking to 1 – 2 cup(s) per day.
4. Chocolate & Milk: This is probably very hard to do. It contains a lot of fat and caffeine that could lead to serious heartburn condition while for milk, due to the large proportion of calcium.
5. Mint Product: It’s time for you to stop chewing you favorite gum.
